Honey Lime Chicken Wings
HONEY LIME CHICKEN WINGS
With football season here, I am looking forward to making all of the right snacks to get you through game day. These wings were popping with flavor and had just the right amount of crisp! They are extremely easy to make, as they only call for 7 ingredients! You can’t beat that. I marinated these chicken wings in an IPA beer for 24 hours. You can pick any beer of your choice and it will do the trick. The trick is to “grill-toss-broil”. Details below!
INGREDIENTS
Chicken wings
1 can of beer (your choice)
5 tablespoons Dijon mustard
4 tablespoons honey
4 cloves of roasted garlic (I buy this pre packaged at the olive bar area in the market)
3 tablespoons butter
3 limes - juiced
DIRECTIONS:
For the Sauce:
In a sauce pot on medium heat- add in the ingredients one by one.
Start by melting the 3 tablespoons of butter. Add in the Dijon mustard and limes. Gradually stir.
Add in the honey. I found that 4 tablespoons was best to tone down the tartness of the lime. You can add in more honey or dijon based off of your preference.
Add the garlic in and crush it up in the sauce.
Let the wing sauce simmer on low and gradually stir.
For the Wings:
24 hours before- soak your wings in a beer filled container and let them sit in the fridge over night.
Grill your wings. You could also bake the wings at 400 degrees if you do not have a grill.
Once the wings are cooked, toss in the wing sauce.
Broil the saucey wings in the oven for 5 minutes. You do not need much time on this!
Serve with limes, honey, ranch- whatever you prefer!
