Super Simple, Golden Turkey

One week till the big day! I was extremely nervous to make my first Turkey this year, and I was shocked to find how easy it was! If you’re looking to make a moist, delicious Turkey- then look no further! Here’s the recipe for my super simple, golden turkey ✨

Ingredients:
-1 Turkey
-1 stick melted butter
-4 cloves garlic
-fresh thyme
-fresh Italian parsley
-3 large oranges
-3 lemons
-1 white onion
-4 stalks of celery
-Carton of Turkey stock

Tools you’ll need:
-Baster
-Turkey timer (the thing that pops up when the Turkey is done cooking)
-Roasting pan

DIRECTIONS:
1. Pat the Turkey dry with a paper towel and add to the roasting pan.
2. Dice the celery and half of white onion. Add to a bowl and toss in olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder. Stuff the turkey with the celery, onion, and a few orange wedges.
3. Cut the oranges, lemons, and rest of the onion into fourths. Scatter around the base of the Turkey.
4. In a small mixing bowl- add 1 stick of melted butter, 4 minced garlic cloves, a handful of fresh thyme, a handful of fresh Italian parsley, salt, and seasoning powder (I used 21 salute from Trader Joe’s). Whisk all together.
5. With a cooking brush, add the butter mix on the Turkey and evenly spread until the Turkey is fully covered.
6. Season the Turkey with salt, pepper, and 21 salute seasoning powder. Stuff the Turkey with 5-7 sprigs of thyme.
7. Pour the Turkey stock in the bottom of the roasting pan (do not pour on top of the Turkey) & then finish with squeezing lemon on top.
8. Poke in the Turkey timer on top of the Turkey and bake in the oven at 360 degrees.
9. At about 2 hours, pull the Turkey out and begin to baste the Turkey. With the Baster- squeeze the stock into the Baster and pour over the top of Turkey. Do this about 10 times and then pop back in the oven. Repeat this step every 25 minutes until the Turkey is finished.

My 12pound Turkey took about 3 hours to make! I knew the Turkey was finished once the little red dot popped out of the Turkey timer. The turkey should hit 165 degrees! Keep warm in the oven before serving.
