Browned Butter, Lemon Orzo

Julia Childs once said, “with enough butter, anything is good”. Some of the best dishes, are with the most simple ingredients. This browned butter lemon orzo turned out absolutely delicious. The key is to really brown your butter (see in directions). It’s the perfect side dish to a meal or could be a meal itself. You could throw in chicken, shrimp, grilled veggies... However, this dish is perfect in its simplistic form. Details below ⬇️

INGREDIENTS:
1 cup orzo
4 tbsp butter
2 tbsp parmigiana
Juice of 1/2 a lemon
2 garlic cloves
1/2 tbsp olive oil
Lemon zest to garnish
Salt, pepper to taste

DIRECTIONS:
1. Bring water to a boil with salt. Once the water is boiling, add the orzo. Cook until soft and then drain the water.
2. Add 4 tbsp butter to a pan on medium low heat. Finely chop the garlic cloves and add to pan. Consistently stir the butter in the pan until brown (this should take about 10 minutes)
3. Add the cooked orzo to the pan. Turn heat to low and mix the orzo in the garlic butter. Add in the lemon juice, parm, and salt/pepper to taste.
4. Plate the orzo and then finish with lemon zest.
